Some may argue that there is nothing more peaceful than waking up to the sound of the ocean in Southern California. So for those of you that crave the beachy atmosphere, but are content with where you live, we have some ideas on how to bring the ocean back to your own home!

Working with an Outdoor Space

An outdoor seating area is a great place to replicate beach concepts. Mark out an intended seating area and decorate with whatever beach inspiration you have! Use surfboards as benches, shells as candle holders or starfish as décor. To create a more romantic night setting, hang mini beach buckets from a covering and place candles inside each pail. Or, for a more contemporary feel, you could always bring a piece of the beach home with you! That is…buy some sand, put it in place of grass or concrete, add a seating area, and your beach seating area is complete! Whatever the plan, don’t forget: the beach is all about being casual, so less is more!

The Sound of Water

Sometimes the sound of trickling water is enough to remind us of the beach. If you are constricted by space, whether you live in an apartment with no balcony or you just don’t have a backyard, don’t give up on your vision. Waterfalls and fountains will turn any space into a calming and relaxing abode. Plus, unlike the beach, you can turn it off and on whenever you want! All you would need is an electrical outlet, and the sound of water around you can be limitless! Plus, there are so many sizes and designs to choose from that will match any style or preference.
