1. How long have you worked with Doma Properties?
2. What do you love most about working in real estate?
Being able to makes people’s dreams a reality! I also love helping my clients see possibilities that hadn’t crossed their minds. It is very rewarding to help people transition to a new life in a new home. I also love being able to use my design expertise when I am staging sellers’ homes. It gives my brain a creative break from all of the analytical activity that doing real estate requires.
3. What brought you to Long Beach?
I moved to Long Beach from Orange County in 1999 to study interior design. After I got my bachelor’s degree in design from Cal State Long Beach, I never left! I loved the architectural character of the city, the culture and diversity it fostered, and its laid-back residents. Although we don’t have waves (yet!), living by the beach is pretty awesome, so I can’t ever picture living anywhere else.
4. You have just the weekend to show an out-of-town guest the best of Long Beach, what would you do?
I would show them the Aquarium of the Pacific, the Pike, and the Queen Mary. I’d try to fit in a day of shopping at our cool neighborhood business districts, like Retro Row, On Broadway, and Bixby Knolls. I’d also make time to visit at least one of our historic Ranchos and attend whatever major event is going in Long Beach that weekend…there is always something going on! This goes without saying, but I would make sure to take them to some of my favorite restaurants, like Beachwood Barbeque, James Republic, and Fuego.
5. When you’re not at the office, what do you like to do?
I like to hang out with my family at my Bluff Heights home. My husband Hale, 2 year old daughter Leila, and my Lab mix Charlie are all the entertainment I can handle after a day of work. Weekends are a different story- I love to go to the dog beach or attend whatever fun event Long Beach has going on. Most recently I went to Buskerfest in the East Village. I have a lot of close friends in Long Beach, and we take turns hosting girls’ wine nights. I also love to travel-everywhere and anywhere.
6. Tell us a fun fact about yourself that only your closest friends would know.
I once ate two (2) In-n-Out Double-Double meals in one sitting. I had meant to give one to a friend, but when I handed him the burger he said he had just eaten. I didn’t want it to go to waste! I come from a huge family (10 kids), and you just don’t waste food. Big no-no!
