The best parts about living in Long Beach is rejuvenating in Earl Burns Miller Japanese Gardens!

A quiet haven amongst the city of Long Beach located on the campus of CSULB, it is an enclosed garden of 1.3 acres of bridges, hills, ponds, an array of different trees, and flowers of all species from iris and azaleas in the Spring and magnolias in the Summer. The garden features bamboo as a favorite wood of the Japanese and Koi fish can be seen swimming in the lake.  Built with a charitable donation from Mrs. Loraine Miller Collins in honor of her late husband Earl Burns Miller, this Japanese-style garden of tranquility is an area where one can rejuvenate, reminisce and have a moment of one with nature. This garden has become a popular space for proposals and weddings!


Free to the public: Tuesday through Friday, 8am – 3:30pm & Sunday from Noon – 4pm

Mondays/Saturdays: Closed
