This cultural celebration will honor the traditions of the Latin community as well as empower those that attend with unity.
The festival will showcase inspiring music and dance performances; food, general merchandise, information and vending booths; and include various games and activities for members of our community. This event is expected to attract thousands of spectators from the greater Long Beach area bringing accord and harmony through out the day.

The American Heart Association and Union Bank will host a Health and Wellness Expo at Union Bank’s Long Beach Renaissance Branch on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Participants will receive complimentary blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol screenings, have the opportunity to consult one-on-one with a cardiologist or registered nurse and learn about cardiovascular disease and the seven simple steps to a longer, healthier life.
Participants will also walk away with tips on financial planning, including budgeting and saving. Resources in Spanish will be available.

You have 24 hours to photograph Long Beach for the annual “Say Cheese, Long Beach!” photo contest!
Submit approx. 10 or 15 of your best digital images taken within the city limits of Long Beach between noon on Saturday, Sept. 14 and noon on Sunday, Sept. 15.
Entry is free and no preregistration required. Fill out the entry form and upload your photos at the same time only between noon and 8 p.m. on Sun., Sept. 15, 2013, at www.BradAndBrad.com/saycheese.
A panel of photojournalists and/or community leaders will jury the submitted images and select a top 20.
The unveiling of the images and winners will be Thursday, Sept. 19 on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore at/near Chase Bank in Belmont Shore from 5-9 p.m. during the Belmont Shore Stroll & Savor event. Awards at 7 p.m. Over $1,000 will be awarded!
