Two ecologists will lead a nature walk through the Long Beach wetlands. Learn about and look for the creatures of our wetlands.
Many creatures reside in the wetlands. Sea eagles hunt for fish. An owl makes his home in the ground. A group of sea turtles has taken up residence where the Haynes Power Plant discharges warm water into the San Gabriel River.

Where: Aquarium of the Pacific @ 100 Aquarium Way
The Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach is hosting its second annual 5K Run/Walk. The scenic course will take participants around the Aquarium and surrounding shoreline area. Admission to the Aquarium is included in the registration fee. Registrants will receive a bib, timing tag, goody bag, ticket to the Aquarium (valid September 7-8 only), and a T-shirt (for those that pre-register only). All finishers will receive a medal. Please note that pre-registration is online only.

The Belmont Shore Business Association is hosting the 24th Annual Belmont Shore Car Show Sunday, September 8 from 9 am to 3 pm.
The event is a long-standing community favorite that draws upwards of 50,000 from all over California to Belmont Shore.
The fourteen-block stretch of East Second Street will be closed from Bayshore Avenue to Livingston Avenue for the event. Up to 600 classic cars will be on display making it one of the largest car shows of its kind on the West Coast. The side streets that intersect with Second Street will also be closed to the alleys for the purpose of exhibiting cars.
